1- Handmade artisan earrings in sterling silver and jasper.
Lovely red, orange and gray jasper rectangles suspended from long sterling silver triangles, hand-textured with overlapping dots.
The silver has been treated with a darkening patina to emphasize the texture surface.
The ear wires are long curving hooks in sterling silver.
Very easy to put on.
The stones are 34 x 12 mm (1 5/8x ½”)
The total length of the earrings is 45mm (1 ¾”)
These bold earrings were fired twice to enamel both front and back in black first.
A thick coat of bright green was sifted over a stencil onto the front of each piece.
After carefully removing the stencil, the pieces were fired one final time.
The hand fabricated sterling silver tops were oxidized to show the texture detail.

New Mexico area.
The Zuni were lapidary masters. They did stone inlay on shell bases and later on in silver.
